One of Andalucia's main attractions for visitors is its climate. The sun shines on an average of 3GO days a year, and even more in the easterly province of Almeria. It is, however, a mistake to think that the weather is hot and with constant sunshine all year round. One of the advantages of the size and location of Andalucia is that the weather is variable according to the area. For those who really love the heat, the inland provinces of Seville, Jaen and Cordoba register the hottest temperatures in July and August, . and 52° Celsius has been known in the small town of Ecija in Seville province. The coastal regions enjoy very warm summers but with temperatures lower than inland regions and there is usually a lovely cooling breeze. At the other end of the scale, some inland regions can be very cold in winter and it snows in the highest mountain towns and villages. The most famous, of course, is Granada, which has its very own ski resort in the Sierra Nevada, where skiing is possible for at least five months of the year, but where, just forty miles away, people are soaking up the sun on the beaches of the province's Costa Tropical.
Something for everyone. Andalucia's different landscapes, beautiful beaches, modern facilities and climate make it attractive to all types of visitors. Sports of all types can be practiced here, bird watchers, walkers and photographers are in their element, culture vultures will never be sated because there is so much on offer.
